    Speaking of the CDC...

Attendees say many people did not mask, socially distance or take other precautions recommended earlier in the pandemic.

This thing ain't disappearing anytime soon (ever).

    • My niece (big sis's daughter) got married at the weekend. Sadly her 90 year old grandad on her dad's side was unable to attend as he had Covid.

      • The White House recently received a sobering warning about the potential for the coronavirus to come roaring back, with experts reaching a consensus that there’s a roughly 20 percent chance during the next two years of an outbreak rivaling the onslaught of illness inflicted by the omicron variant.
Fewer than 80,000 confirmed coronavirus cases were reported across the United States last week — the lowest figure since March 2020. But the actual rate of infection is almost certainly far higher than the reported numbers, with many Americans testing at home, if at all, and opting not to report their results.

        • I shopped at my grocery store this afternoon; would guess 15-20% of customers masked up.

I keep a mask on my gearshift and if the store looks at all crowded I put it on.

At 49 I'm considered old and in the 90th % of age on my department, so age is certainly relative... at times. I'm surrounded by very young and robust co-workers and sometimes forget that that isn't the norm.

                      That would be an N95?

                      • Another sign that we are post/pandemic:

The State of New Jersey has stopped reporting daily COVID numbers and is only giving weekly numbers now.

I still keep a mask in my pocket since I have a compromised immune system due to the Multiple Myeloma. But even the hospital and doctor’s office now make masks optional.

Those with Type A blood—about a third of the U.S. population—are at a 20% to 30% greater risk of infection with the novel coronavirus than those with Type O blood (nearly half of Americans), Dr. Sean Stowell, associate professor of pathology at Harvard Medical School and lead author on the study, tells Fortune.
