NZ has done pretty well as we also reacted quite quickly. But if we had reacted as quickly as HK. Cambodia etc, we would have done really well.
Seen from America, you New Zealanders can still feel like you did REALLY well.

That doesn't surprise me.....spreading disinformation is par for the course for some.....

As for whom to trust....like most of Twitter you find a few reliable sources and stay with them....it really isn't that hard.

Most Americans expect a COVID-19 vaccine within a year; 72% say they would get vaccinated

What is most interesting here is that Blacks are least likely to see benefit in vaccination. Black Evangelicals especially so, followed closely by white evangelicals. I'll let you decide on the political differences. And, no surprise, education level has something to do with it as well. In my opinion anyone refusing a vaccination should be barred from school and work. Yes that is authoritarian, but with this virus the communities health trumps politics or religion or ignorance.

Given the history of the U.S. medical research establishment and African-Americans, it's not a huge surprise.

And the sun came up this morning. Yawn. Another story about researchers suggesting that there is some significance to the twitterverse being full of bots. We keep seeing breathless articles telling us that (pick one: 40%, 50%, 60%) of the tweets about (pick the topic du jour) are bots. About half of all tweets are from bots. It means nothing about the subject.

Wait, what?! So they don't want retail sales from intelligent people?

                      • And even though South Korea is praised by Business Insider here, I am pretty much sure Moon Jae In is criticized back home.

South Korea just flexed its contact-tracing power: After partiers with coronavirus went to nightclubs, it found and tested 46,000 exposed people

That's an awfully big stretch, Guardian folks. Some random gas stations, etc. I have seen no stores with such signs. In fact, many of the stores around here emphasize you should wear a mask when in their establishment.
