So Georgia (the country, not the US state) has now replaced Trinidad & Tobago as the deadliest country in the last seven days. (105 / million deaths.) They are now also 7th worst (3,496 deaths / million) since the start, and by far the worst country in Asia.

9 of the top ten countries with deaths per million are in East Europe, formerly communist and many SSR's. #1 in World (and will probably stay) is still Peru.

I see that if Georgia the state, was a country, it would rank 13th at 2,961 at deaths per million.

Russia had 10 straight days with deaths under 1000, and last 2 days under 900. From 1200+ in November, 1080 in December. Less than 50% vaccinated.

Booster time frame dropped from 6 months to 5 months for Pfizer:

Today, CDC is updating our recommendation for when many people can receive a booster shot, shortening the interval from 6 months to 5 months for people who received the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 Vaccine. This means that people can now receive an mRNA booster shot 5 months after completing their Pfizer-BioNTech primary series. The booster interval recommendation for people who received the J&J vaccine (2 months) or the Moderna vaccine (6 months), has not changed.

Singapore's government will stop covering the cost of COVID-19 treatment for those who are "unvaccinated by choice" next month, citing the strain they are placing on its health care system.

Thanks. It doesn't come out nearly so verbose on here after all.

I hope NZ does the same as Singapore.

And I wish we'd do the same here, but it will never happen. This column got support and flak, with some people arguing we don't tell smokers or people with other unhealthy lifestyle habits to go to the back of the line. As a matter of fact, that's exactly what we're doing - if they are vaccinated and can't medical help for a cardiac issue because resources are now diverted to the unvaccinated. We are giving fools the king's food.

If you haven't seen this, it's good history: Love the pics from the pamphlet published by a doctor who turned out to have been vaccinated!

As we get closer to an effective vaccine for Covid-19, we should expect to see a renewed push of disinformation and vocal resistance from the anti-vaccination movement.
