Question: (paraphrased) 5' 8" Franklin Jacobs set a record for height differential when he exceeded his height by 23 inches in what event?
First Guess: Long Jump ( by eventual winner of the day.).
Second Guess: Pole Vault (by woman who participated in Sydney Olympic opening ceremony and dominated category)
Third Guess: High Jump ( by blind contestant, previous five time winner)
I'd like to think I might still be able to LJ 23 inches further than my height!

Watched a recorded episode recently and in the category of "It's going to be close" an answer was "In 2015 after 8:08:32 just 8 seconds would separate the 1st & 3rd place finishers in this type of race". The question they were looking for was "what is a triathlon?" My question is, which triathlon was this? My google skills did not goggle an answer . . .

            First Response: Shot Put

I laughed because that's the way I use to do the shot put.....hop, step, and heave.

Thanks for the info! The only video I could find was not that dramatic because it only shows the last few seconds of the race.

The other day there was an entire category on sprinting on Polish Jeopardy. The clues were as follows (from lowest to highest value):

                    - He is called the world's fastest man
                    - He is the Polish 100m record holder (nobody answered)
                    - These 3 distances are referred to as sprint races
                    - In 2016, she became the world junior record holder at indoor 60m (daily double; the contestant got it right)
                    - He is the 400m world record holder (nobody asnwered)

                      1. Usain Bolt (or is it Christian Coleman)
                      2. Wieslaw Maniak
                      3. 100m, 200m, 400m
                      4. Ewa Svoboda (Polish Jeopardy - must be her)
                      5. Wayde van Niekerk

They did mean Usain Bolt, but the clue wasn't really formulated very well. Many people have been called that at various points in time. The answer to no. 2 is Marian Woronin. You got the other ones right.

I'm amazed that Wieslaw Maniak still holds the Polish 100 metre record - that's going way back. Of course, he was pretty good - 4th at Tokyo behind Hayes, Figuerola, and Jerome

I would think the answer to the first question is the winner of the 100m at the Olympics.

Or, more likely, the 100m world record holder? Of course he happens to be the same person in this case. But you could also make an argument for the current world champ or world's no. 1 of the latest season.
