      • I don't think they've objected to the St. Louis Cardinals, the Philadelphia Eagles, or the Atlanta Falcons.

I understand the Gastropod Society has been upset about UC Santa Cruz's mascot for some time now.

Not to mention the Chiquita folks . . .

Best all-time reference to the UC Santa Cruz mascot is at the 1:20 mark of this outstanding video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I_oaTP_oRsc

Well, they should. As an Irish-American, I, for one, have never been happy the name Boston Celtics - especially because they can't even pronounce it correctly.

Of all the bird mascots, the only one that truly possesses a nasty (dare I say, fowl?) attitude is the blue jay. Followed closely by mockingbirds.

The AAMC is the Association of American Medical Colleges and Flexner was a major pioneer in medical education.

Dang! I learned that as a perverse pre-teen, and never quite finished chuckling about it.

Would be humorous in context if they renamed him Adolph Tanaka . . .

I had a friend in the service who named his son Bill Cosby [Lastname]. I assume he just goes by Will now.
