Headline - First there was abuse from a physician, then from coaches, now, the newest fight in gymnastics is over … leotards

      It's complicated.

The leotard thing is stupid. Yes, it is a red flag if a coach won't ever let his girl gymnasts wear shorts at practice. But the article that Perelman cites took it a step farther and basically blames leotards for abuse, which is absurd. Women and children are abused no matter what they wear. You could ban leotards and it would not impact abuse in the slightest.

The #GymnastAlliance stories keep coming out, day after day, stories that go right up to this year.

All sports struggle with abuse, including ours, but it is clear that gymnastics has a culture problem that has normalized abuse to a far greater degree than track and field in the United States ever has.

A Gymnastics Coach Accused of Emotional Abuse Speaks Out

If she could travel back in time, before she was suspended from gymnastics after being accused of berating and mistreating her athletes, including an Olympic champion, Maggie Haney says she would change the way she coached.

NYT getting roasted for giving an abuser such a big platform. Hopefully most people can see through the lies and manipulation Maggie is spewing.

Simone Biles is proof that you do not need to abuse gymnasts in order for them to be successful. The idea that gymnnasts in this country are doomed to mediocrity now that abuse is no longer allowed is absurd!
