FOX did a poll and 50.2% said that Die Hard is NOT a Christmas movie. 49.8% said it was a Christmas movie.

I wish there was a way to emphasize this with more force. It's a goofy relatively recent trendy thing to say Diehard is a Christmas movie. Never heard that the first 20 years after it came out.

but then, it also took many years before It's A Wonderful Life took on iconic status.....

There is a very good film, In America (2004) by Jim Sheridan that shows a very moving scene in Christmas.
