Widespread use of legal performance-enhancing 'Maurten' hydrogel in peloton a 'small revolution for endurance sport'

The product, apparently used by 40 per cent of teams in the peloton, doubles the amount of carbohydrate able to be ingested without the gastric discomfort

I wouldnt call that a drug, and the "PE" claim is also dubious.

Speaking of the tour! Well worth watching, as usual, but this season seems crammed with "wow" moments. The crashes, the fan with the sign (who I feel sorry for, sorta), the tears from super athletes, der Poel, Cavendish, Mohoric, And todays race was a classic. Incredible climbing by Pogacar and der Poel drops out of top 10 after a brilliant stage 7.

It has been exciting and so much unexpected. I hope somehow that keeps up but after today’s stage, barring illness or a crash, I think we know who the winner of the Tour is going to be.

The only person on the planet that could challenge Pogacar is an on-form Egan Bernal. But of course he's not there.

Did they ever catch the woman who caused the crash on state 1?

                    Yes....and they dropped the charges....

"We are withdrawing our complaint. This story has been blown out of proportion but we wish to remind everyone of the safety rules on the race," Tour director Christian Prudhomme told the Reuters news agency.

The Tour dropped its lawsuit but she still faces two criminal charges.

                          Stupidity should be painful.

I think worldwide public humiliation will probably do that.

Didn't see anything but today's stage result, but it looks like a "normal" TDF stage, after a week of craziness. That's with two trips up Mont Ventoux looming tomorrow.
