There was no evidence of any of Salazar's athletes doping, nor were there any charges of micro dosing. He was banned for tampering, testing testosterone on his sons, and using IVs, a prohibited method.

Research says that yes, he was given the 4 year ban.

"On October 1, 2019, USADA banned Salazar and Dr. Jeffrey Stuart Brown,[a colleague at the Nike Oregon Project, for doping offences. These included using a WADA prohibited method, tampering with doping control methods and trafficking testosterone through a prohibited testing program."

Now, the latest update is he's banned permanently due to the Cain (and others) accusations.

"In early 2020, Salazar was sanctioned with an additional ban from coaching by the United States Center for SafeSport after allegations of sexual and emotional misconduct were investigated. Mary Cain, Kara Goucher and Amy Yoder Begley were among those who made complaints about Salazar's conduct. On July 26, 2021 Salazar's status was moved from "temporarily ineligible" to "permanent ineligibility" by the U.S. Center for SafeSport, meaning that he is indefinitely banned from coaching."

He gave her NON-prescrption pills which caused all of this!
He SHAMED her in PUBLIC while a TEENAGER!!

He completely RUINED the career of a girl who had SMASHED ELEVEN HSR's in one year!!

She should have sued this vile sexist hatemonger for TWO HUNDRED MILLION, not $20M!!!
Are you trying to tell me she never had a choice to walk away? . . . and even tried to come back to his group after all this happened. Her parents could have told her to walk away. Where or how was her freedom of choice to leave ever denied? If you don't like your circumstances, especially if you have parents who can help, you leave! Sour grapes.

No evidence other than sworn testimony of several athletes and others associated with NOP. While not specifically named you can be sure that played into the final decision.

Ever hear of "battered woman syndrome"?
Ever hear of cults & "drinking the kool-aid"?

Women get beaten, yet time and time again, go back to him---if they ever leave in the first place!
They are locked in, even when they KNOW they need to get the fuck out of there, and never return!!

            Same with cults.
They believe in the cult leader, and if he orders them to drink the kool-aid and commit suicide, they will!!

Mary was just 16 when Salazar contacted her and offered to help her!
He was then an athletic legend, before he was busted and did all that shit to Mary!
So she idolized him (Said she loved him!!), and did everything he told her to do!
He was the Jim Jones of Nike!

When you're a teenager, you're much more open to listening to someone you idolize than not!

By the time he had total control of her, she was suffering from everything he did to her!
Watch that 2019 NYT op-ed again!

Thank God she finally did leave!
And forget the fact she went back earlier in 2019.
She was still buried in Battered Woman Syndrome then!

As for the drugs, she SAID she was given a NON-prescription drug (which doctors did NOT prescribe) that kept her from having periods, weakened her bones (the 5 broken bones).
He should have been banned for THAT alone!!!

A little dramatic don't you think. I am surprised you did not bring up some former world leader like Stalin or Hitler to try and add effect.

She had teammates, she had parents she talked to regularly. She was led just as much by her own desire to succeed and achieve fame and glory and when that dream faded . . . well typical of our culture . . . find someone to blame and try to make them pay for what you felt you missed out on.

You are consumed by your hatred for Salazar. Knowing the way you respond you will be trying to get him a lifetime prison sentence next.

What testimony? The CAS does not mention anything about Salazar's athletes doping and it apparently did not have anything to do with the decision. Did you read the report?

If so, then you would know that they made the explicit point that the ADRVs didn't affect competition and no evidence was put before them that athletes doped, and furthermore they found the whole response out of proportion with the actual violations.

The testimonies given by athletes outside of the court that was not used but certainly were known. Just like in a trial you can object, the judge will sustain and the testimony not admitted but the jury hears it anyhow. Add that to what he had been caught doing, they hid the real reason.

Come on, don't be naive and a Sal-apologist. Magness said he was injected with L-Carnitine and others told of micro dosing testosterone and prednisone. Do you honestly believe Salazar wasn't doping them? Explain why most of his former runners took a dump in the Trials and Olympics post-bust. Rupp, Hasay, Engels, Murphy, Centro, Brazier, Koko, all were considered medal contenders after 2019 Worlds and they all tanked.

Also, by using such evidence they would also be convicting many top US athletes with large contracts...so they dug just deep enough to get the disease and not the symptoms.

Actually he is now banned for life for exactly what AaronK described. Interesting is your take on blame as now it's Salazar blaming everyone for his bust.

Hmmm where did I read that he was beating athletes and ordering them to commit suicide? And who did?

It is easy to pile on someone when they are down. It is also extremely easy to say someone "emotionally abused" you because all you have to do is claim that is what you felt inside. Someone said things to me that I perceived were mean or hurtful and now I can label them an abuser. Every person on earth can claim to have been emotionally abused in some way or another. Every single coach who ever coached is probably also guilty because any and all means they used to try and motivate or improve an athlete can now be taken into question.

Of course, very few people will ever go down the route she is now taking unless they see that the person may be easy prey and there could be some big $$$$ involved. Why not take a shot. Our culture is rife with the blame game so why not Salazar as well? Everything in life that goes wrong is always someone else's fault today it seems. No personal accountability for hardly anyone.

And that would include your beloved Banazar. Seriously, talk about a lack of personal accountability!! He was their coach! Shame on him!

Did the kids Jerry Sandusky abused also have a lack of accountability? God forbid if your children got hooked up with a dealer would you blame them or the dealer? Use some sense, there are predators out there and Salazar is one of the them to satisfy his own ego.

Should we be holding the women gymnasts accountable for the abuse they received from Dr. Nassar? Should we scold them for not 'walking away'?' They trusted him and he abused their trust, just as Salzar did.

I'm glad that everything has come out and applaud Kara Goucher, Cain and the rest for their bravery throughout this. But I doubt more will come out from this lawsuit and the only ones who will actually make significant money that they can put in the bank are the lawyers on both sides.

Whether this situation should be handled differently for girls/women is up to debate I guess.
It is still "up to debate"? Are we still living in the 20th century?

Rupp just ran 2:06 under tough conditions and finished 2nd in a WMM.
Engels was never considered a medal contender by anyone.
Murphy was DFL in 2019 World, the same place he was in Tokyo.
Centro was 8th in 2019 Worlds.
Brazier was injured during the Trials.
Koko was also injured for most of the season.

                                On the other hand...

Hassan won two golds and a bronze at the Olympics.
Osako finished 6th in the Olympic marathon.
Hull broke the Oceanian record and made the Olympic final.

(BTW, Engels, Brazier, Koko, Osako and Hull have been coached by Pete Julian.)
