One big difference for me: as fine as Y Rand was (and she was!) she is not the first nor close to only thing I think about when I think about Star Trek, far far from it. The only things I know about TJ Hooker (which I did not watch after an episode or two) is that a very hot Locklear was on a show with Shatner.
