I have also learned they use corny names like "Super 16" and "Great 8." There is nothing super or great about missing the Big Dance.
J. Ira and Nicki Harris Family Head Women's Basketball Coach Kim Barnes Arico announced the addition of Elissa Brett as a graduate transfer for the 2023-24 University of Michigan women's basketball team on Friday (April 28). Brett spent the last four seasons at Bowling Green and heads to Michigan for her final year of eligibility.

When she takes the court with Angel Reese next season, the ex-Cardinal will wear a different number.
Aneesah Morrow could be next. (USC and South Carolina are the two other finalists.)

I guess this is as good a place as any for this - Dick Groat died today. One of the great two-sport athletes. First person to be elected into the College Baseball and College Basketball Hall of Fame. Still has the highest average ppg for a career in basketball at Duke. Played 1 year in the NBA and then 16 years in MLB. Won a batting title, an MVP, and was on 2 World Series champions (1960 Pirates, 1964 Cardinals).
At various Duke events I met him briefly twice and he was also an incredibly nice guy.

So Reese is the best player on the only LSU basketball team that won the national championship. As he wrote, others, including himself, could not deliver the goods when it counted most.
Most people would not agree with him, and if he were another random LSU grad, no one would be talking about his opinion now.
