Ridiculous impractical vehicle that, if you buy it up here, can only be serviced at certain dealers. Almost bought one. Got a Sequoia instead. Would have been the dumbest thing I have ever done. They aren't even that big.
How often would a California type need something like that?
Desert sands.
You're thinking about how to cross the central valley after global warming sets in? Smart long term planning there. Do GM have an electric version in case the oil is too expensive then?

Mojave desert, Death Valley. California has a lot of varied terrain.

Yeah, that's right, take a behemoth of a vehicle with some kinda' cool outdoorsy name (tahoe, sequoiya, environmentalist?) and drive it out into the wilderness to crush anything and everything that it comes in contact with, with tons of pressure digging wheel ruts into a fragile environment to remain for the next who knows how many years. Why do they always show them out in some wilderness area where a car should never go? Take nothing but memories, leave nothing but footprints, and on the established trail at that.
People forget that they are temporarily visiting in the animal's neighborhood, and that the local original residents are not bound by any of our societal conventions. When they are given the opportunity to get something to eat (even if they have to work for it a little bit- animal caretakers call it "enrichment") they will act like, well.... animals.
