Princeton. For people who contributed to the betterment of society.

(My apologies- I am in a smarmy mood lately.)

When it comes to Nobel prizes, the University of Chicago has no peers.

Once upon a time, when the dinosaurs populated the Earth, they were members of the Big 10. Doesn't seem real, does it?

              (wiki, again)

The University of Chicago's football teams (nicknamed the Monsters of the Midway at the time) were among the best in the country, winning seven Big Ten Conference titles from 1899 to 1924, including a national championship in 1905 while playing at Stagg Field. The University is also one of only a few schools to be undefeated in football against the University of Notre Dame. In 1935, Chicago's Jay Berwanger was the winner of the first-ever Heisman Trophy. The following year, Berwanger also became the first player to be drafted by the National Football League.

When I think of the University of Chicago I think of three things:

                1. Rick Wolhuter

                2. Frank Lloyd Wright's Robie House ( http://www.koutayba.com/flw/architectur ... house.html )

                3. The work of Fermi. On Dec. 2, 1942, under the abandoned west stands of Stagg Field, the first controlled nuclear reaction occurred. Essential step on the way to the a-bomb.

No debate USC is #1 there. Penn State may approach with the # of great linebackers, but not running backs.
