I had no idea it was a "were" not "are"

So the proper question should now have an additional [] at the end!

What are Canadians supposed to think when they hear Group Of 7?

                    [], [], [], [], [], [], []

(no, the answer doesn't start with a 6-pack!)

Tommie Thompson would have been the only one I could name by name, but in looking for others, I discover that while part of the group, he was dead by the time the Group of 7 was formed and wasn't part of it!

(decidedly only of Candians and artsie-fartsie types)

Oh crap! I'm tempted to hit gh's link but maybe I can save a bit of face first.

Lismer, Jackson, Thompson, Harris, that's it... I'm drawing a blank. Did I mention that I hate their stuff?

How about the Gang of Four?

                              Jiang Qing, [], [], []
