  • Link These Names, Question 29

    Hollywood, Hollywoodland, Holywood

(unfortunately, I have my doubts about the answer as given to me)

Variations over time of the Hollywood sign in the hills above Hollywood. Never heard of the Holywood version, but definitely the Hollywoodland one.

correct on both counts; I can find no indication that it ever read Holywood.

The "H" blew over and the sign read ollywoodland in 1949, Hollyweed in 1973 and one of the "O"s feel down the hill and the sign read Hollywo d in the late 70s and appearantly Holywood in 1987. My brain is ready to implode...I need a beer.
