I went to a Bob Dylan concert Sunday nite, here in San Diego. He did a mix of chestnuts, updated with different rhythems, phrasing, etc. This has been true of the concerts I have attended in the past. Kick ass versions of Maggie's Farm, Like a Rolling Stone and All Along the Watchtower (best I have heard, including Hendrix). A strange, but likeable Desolation Row (the tempo was sortta reggae/ska in nature). He did a few things off the latest album (mostly the R&B stuff) and some from the previous two albums. He had a five piece band, which kinda overpowered the ballads (not too many of those, but Every Grain of Sand was lost. Not one of RZs best songs anyway).
In sum, the old fart (he is about 6 mos older than I) still puts on a pretty good show. I was bemused that he played only keyboard and harmonica. In the review this was attributed to arthritis problems.
