There's a humorous but informative front page article in today's Wall Street Journal about a number of web sites that are dedicated to "how to" instructions, some of which seem silly because they’re fairly obvious (how to take a shower, how to boil an egg, how to play hide-and-go-seek), and some almost absurd (how to do nothing--they make it sound more complicated than it really is).
The article is actually posted on the free part of the WSJ web site today, which is unusual (they do that for only a small fraction of the content of the printed newspaper). Here's the URL:

I looked at some of the sites mentioned in the WSJ article. They each cover many topics and have lots of instructions that would be useful if you need advice about how to do something serious and don’t know how. Then there are the silly and/or funny ones. I‘ve bumped the PB&J thread with a link to the how-to page on that subject (which is a wiki page that has apparently been revised almost 50 times by users—there seem to be many differing opinions on this).
