As a lifelong Giants fan I’ll add that, like many Giants fans, I am glad this is over with. The Giants suck (fourth worst record in baseball) and have a lot of work to do to turn things around. Management appears to have finally mentally and emotionally turned the corner. Bonds is gone in a couple of months, we have some great starting pitching (Lincecum, Cain & Lowry can anchor this team for years), and a lot of work to do otherwise. Robbing the Pirates blind on the Morris trade is a great start.

Bonds is done – time to move on . . .

I wonder if he really will be gone at the end of this season -- some speculation (by baseball commentators -- nothing I heard quoted from Bonds as yet) this morning about his pursuit of 3,000 hits -- he's at 2915 now, so could be pretty much assured of getting that next season, barring serious injury. And, if he hits a few more hrs this season, he might start thinking about 800...(He's also close to 2,000 rbi, which he will probably get by the end of this season.)

Any further Bonds activity after this season will be as a DH on some loser AL team . . .

Sounds like the scrum for the ball was fun. Fitting a Yankee fan, bloody face and torn clothes, wound up with it.

                          7, 5, 6, 4, 3, 2 ,1, 0.

That should suffice, it wasn't 765.

Those two actually changed the course of important games. Murphy is just a lucky stiff. The entry is already marked for deletion and is on the way out.

I guess the pressure is off. First at-bat in the next game, a long HR into McCovey Cove . . .
