C:mon, now, Texas. You initially started off stating the Big-10 athletes were slow. Now you:ve changed the statement to mean that they haven:t had a flury of athletes qualify for Olympic Games.
A thread that got away from the initial point??? Is that possible?..haha!!!!

The point is that when it comes to speed in all it's guises, the Big10 doesn't measure up. You disagree?

    texas:

I know, I was merely adding more names to the SEC list, and fleshing out the Big Ten grouping.

There have been tons of speedy SEC sprinters/footballers over the years. The list would be a long long long one. That simply cannot be said about the Big10. Take Auburn for just one example...

    Bo Jackson
    Alexander Wright
    Harvey Glance
    Coby Miller
    Stanley Floyd
    Byron Franklin

If any Big10 team can match that, show me!

That happens in every conference. Where are the Big10 sprinters on the world stage?

Are you serious? What Big 10 sprinter has ran on a USA Olympic/World team? No not talking...

    Herb McKenley
    Trenton Jackson
    Jesse Owens
    Eddie Tolan
    George Simpson

    How about since 1970?
