Fernando Vina said he took HGH but he only did it because he was injured just like Pettittie. So it seems as though "the injury excuse" will become the baseball equivalent of "my dog ate my homework".

Makes more sense than narcolepsy . . .

Here is what he had to say:

No mention of the forthcoming lawsuit. I have a rule of them about liars. They all drop the "family" card.

MJD -- what is the likelihood he stays retired this time around?

Yep. Same as last year with another person in trouble: My son is getting older, and I:d like to spend more time with him.

Pete Rose says that his biggest regret is that he didn't come clean at the beginning and that lying all those years just made it harder for baseball to forgive him. I think Clemens will have the same regret one day.

So I wonder if that cell phone company (I can't even remember which of three it was, but probably AT&T) will continue to run the Clemens ad about the dropped call when he's asking about coming back from retirement. I have to admit it was the funniest of the series....

It looks like Roger Clemens is back-pedaling. Now he concedes that Brian McNamee did inject him, but only with "Lidocaine and B-12". It sounds like Barry Bonds' "I-never-knowingly-took-illegal-PED's" defense.
