So then I had to go to Google to figure out what priority pucks were. This thread is teaching me a lot, but making me feel awfully dumb.

I STILL don't know what a Priority Puck is! Paperweights on a desk that hold stacks of paper with similar priorities?

Nor do I. As I mentioned, I found this by accident, reading the linked blog that you posted about woot. Before this thread started, I would have thought that a priority puck had something to do with ice hockey and woot was the kind of beer Bugs Bunny drinks.

I knew 'woot' from the hip-hop song "Woot, there it is!" My first guess at a priority puck would be what I said above - a circular flat (puck-like) paperweight, with a 'priority' term written on it, like, "rush" or "hold" or "routine". We actually had something like that in a Navy office I worked in. Sorta like the 'in' and 'out' baskets on desks.

I thought it was w00t, not woot. the characters in the middle are even numbers, not letters, I think (but that is just a guess).

                        Maybe he meant "Peter Puck":

                            As in
"Justin Gatlin and Marion Jones are expected to have 'sub-prime' years in 2008."
