  • Vince Wilfork and the shot?

    True?

"...Wilfork attended Santaluces High School in Palm Beach County, Florida and was a letter winner in both football and track and field. He is 6'2" and a hulking 330lbs. In football, he won USA Today's second team All-American honors. In track and field, he was the Florida Class 4A state champion in the shot put and the discus in 2000[1]. He also holds the Florida state high school record in the shot put with a throw of 68 feet..."

Not Michael Carter or Jonathan Ogden, but impressive.

He did win state titles in 2000, 62'/187', but Doc Luckie is the state record-holder at 67-9.

          Doc Luckie

Good ol' Doc Lu Luckie, a high school grid All-American in his own right. Never knew that. That was back in the days of the Johnson twins (the sprinters from Fla. who would be in T & F News' prep section).

So how do they get statements like 'record holder' and 68 feet get made.

              Luckie v. Wilfork

Because it's his Wikipedia bio (albeit footnoted)

                bijanc,
Would that be the "no neck" Johnson twins from Seminole CC and FSU?
No relation to "no neck" Nenow.
