NBC and PETA loses one of their darlings.
Amanda Beard just finished 6th in her heat (and 18th overall) in the opening round of the 100 Breast. She won't make the semis. Adding injury to insult was that teammate Rebecca Soni broke her OR in the next heat. Beard wasn't a huge medal favorite and this is her fourth OG so I'm sure she'll get over it. But that's still not a great showing. She probably would have swum faster if she had wore a swimsuit.
