The US-Canada softball game suffered a rain delay a couple of hours earlier, I believe - they stopped showing it (and switched to badminton!) by about 12:30, IIRC.

Of course I'm in North Carolina, so what do I know?

There was talk of the Chinese busting clouds to prevent any rain during the Games in Beijing itself. Guess it didn't work out.

The BBC are predicting 30C and 64% humidity and strong sunshine. I haven't seen much variation apart from higher humidity, but lower temps on another website.
