Modern adds are often targeted to the individual based on their surfing
behaviour. This obviously raises some questions about BillVol's habits ;-)
Uh, I guess I'll blame it on my wife, who also uses our home computer! :-) FWIW, I think an Army ad came up last time I was on the home page! Edit: It was a Navy ad. Thank goodness.
90% of the ads I see insult my intelligence. The 10% that are effective don't try to sell me anything; they just present the product in a clever, creative, often funny or poignant way. They simply make me aware of its presence.
Has anybody clicked on the audio for the Secret deodorant ad on the front page? In the ad, a young woman, who is using Secret, walks around all day with her arms up in the air, sniffing her armpits, to prove how effective Secret is.
I wonder, is this considered an effective commercial in getting women to buy this product? Do women see this ad and then say, "Wow, I think I may have to try Secret deodorant."
