    (post removed)

Didn't read the following until just now:

I just discovered the first negative thing to say about Brian Clay...
Nice. Before you even hear what he has to say.

well thank goodness it isn't Bryan Clay.....

I am not surprised given that he is an evanagelical Christian.

Aren't a whole bunch of Olympic athletes saying the Pledge of Allegience?

Any chance of opening up a separate political forum for the next couple of months?

w/ mellow johnny and lexvid already weighing in with responses that are close to earning them bans, chances are our old buddies slim & none.

Yes, I understand. That's why I approached the possibility, because I'm thinking a lot of folks will be either biting their lip, or getting the boot, between now and November.

                    whoa, hold on here...

My comment was meant all in fun and more than anything my statement was meant to point out how highly I regard Bryan Clay...

I apologize for not using the appropriate emoticon in my post but the mere mention of a ban over that seems a bit over the top for sure....

My sincere apologies if my post came across differently than intended...it merely was meant to make light of the situation and point out how much I respect BC

Thanks for posting . I now have a good reason to watch one of my favorite decathletes off the field. And I can tell my political friends that I did watch one of the convention speeches. All the best to Bryan tonight, Dont be shy Brian and you will wow them and us. Our prayers are with you.
... nothing really ever changes my friend, new lines for old, new lines for old.

The blogosphere is saturated with political forums, Thankfully, this is not one of them for very good reason.
Posters of diverse persuasions enjoy here, although sometimes contentious, a common bond in track and field that would be shredded in a political/religious free-for all.
From gratuitous remarks allowed to stand, it is obvious we are not all of one mind. No amount of clever phrasing or emoticons can hide bias.
Hopefully, everyone can suppress their zingers, bite their tounge and keep on posting.

I hear you lonewolf, agree, and won't post anything else political myself. I guess part of it was seeing the original post and, even though it was meant all in fun, feel that perhaps the original post shouldn't have been allowed in the first place given the policy I just read regarding politics.

Wow, no sexual innuendos or condom pics but I'm close to getting banned for a throw away comment without misogynistic, prejuidice or bias and I'm close to getting banned!

Doesn't take much around here... :x

PS: I couldn't give a flying fadoo if he spoke at a convention for .... oh never mind. Might get me banned :P

Can't we have one on election night instead of on the 4th of July?
                              Just this once?
