  • Brady Done For '08?

Anybody who saw Carson Palmer's knee injury back in '05 had a flashback when Brady went down today after a defensive lineman rolled into his extended leg.

They--NE-- aren't saying anything but about a half-doz. TV stations claim to have sourced confirmation that his '08 season is over.

This is where we are right now:

However, ESPN and YahooSports.com reported Monday that Brady's injury could be serious enough to sideline him for the season. According to Yahoo, Brady -- who missed all of New England's preseason action because of a foot injury -- tore his left anterior cruciate ligament and will be out for the year. Boston television station WCVB also reported Brady suffered ligament damage, which the station said could be a torn ACL and perhaps an injured MCL as well. According to WCVB, if the ligament damage is confirmed, surgery would likely be performed this week and he would be out for the rest of the season.

Confirmed today - out for the season.
Good luck to Matt Cassel, who threw a total of 33 passes in college, riding the bench behind first Carson Palmer and then Matt Leinart at USC!

The last time Cassel started a game was in HS(!!). Interesting to note he was the backup to two QB's who both suffered identical season-ending injuries(Palmer, Brady).

I love Adrian Peterson, but one of the morons in the booth on MNF just posed the question of whether Usain Bolt could beat Adrian if Usain also had to hold a football...one of the other morons said he'd love to see it, as if there would be suspense. Maybe if it was a 20 meter race, as Usain seems to have a slow start...

You have to love the football comparisons.......

To make it REALLY fair, you need to take Usain to the side of the field, slam him in the side of the head with a hammer a couple of times, hit him with a VW Beetle going 20 mph once or twice, then hand him the football.
