I'm wondering that myself. Uncle Sam is making 10% on an $85 billion loan.

He's referring to a former VP, one of about 20,000 VPs in a financial institution of that size, who was convicted of mail fraud.
Think of the Fed's loan as being similar to a farm loan that will be paid off after harvest. AIG will pay the loan off after some of its assets are sold in an orderly fashion. No big deal here.

The NYTimes doesn't want to let this one go. Piracy seems to be quite an industry in Somalia.

Don't mess with a US crew.

                      http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/30103371/

A U.S. official said the crew had retaken control and had one pirate in custody. NBC News reported that it was unclear whether the three other pirates had escaped or been thrown overboard.

The official said the status of the other pirates was unknown but they were reported to "be in the water."
                      lol!

Well, the US crew has the ship, but it seems that the pirates are in a lifeboat with the captain, whom they are holding as a hostage.

They container ship has since left to dock in Kenya, leaving the pirates and their powerless lifeboat floating out in the open ocean, up against a US destroyer lol.

Don't we have snipers that can take these knuckleheads out and then go home?

/Everything I know about the military I learned on TV.

I dunno. Four bad dudes and one captain on a lifeboat in open water? Might not be such an easy task, even for Jack Bauer.
