So if you have some significant savings (not investments), what are you going to do?

Keep it in big banks?
Little banks or credit unions?
CDs, T-Bills?
Money market accounts don't seem so good right now?
Change it to Euros or even Yuen ?
Interest rates on savings are low.

And even if you distribute it around to be sure it is FDIC insured, in a worst case scenario the government cannot possibly cover all deposits.

Under the mattress? No interest there, and how paranoid would you be with a life-time worth of savings sitting around the house?
And even with cash in hand, inflation or a currency devaluation could wipe out the value of all our Benjies.

Invest in the market? LOL... I'm not that smart. Are you?

Buy something tangible that will hold value? Gold? Property? Complete mint-condition sets of T&FN? What?

Whattya you guys think? How bad is this going to be? Where are the Illuminati when you need them?
