  • Demps & Holliday

They couldn't say enought about Demps and Holliday during the Fla vs LSU game. They even got it right...10.01/10.02. Never heard more talk of speed on a football field than what I heard during the Florida vs LSU game.

Only three conferences have had a slew of "real" speed on the football field. So if we ran a (NCAA) footballers 100m...hmm?

Hey Texas, how would you like to make a 4x1 from just UF's team?
    Rainey, James, Harvin, Demps.
    I can't believe there's a faster foursome out there. Sub-40?

I agree about being the fastest foursome, not sure we'd see a sub40.00 however. I do doubt anyone but Demps is a sub 10.25 guy.

      Some other football 4x1's...

When Bob Hayes was at FAMU, he ran on a 4x1 team with Bob Paremore, Al Denson and Alfred Austin (who was beating Hayes in HS) Hayes, Paremore and Denson all made it to the NFL.

NWLa once had a 4x1 with Mark Duper, Joe Delaney and Victor Oatis all played in the NFL. Forget the other member.

I'd bet on any arrangement of the SEC "A" team to beat the fastest four from any of the other leagues.

Oregon's 40-flat 4x110y WR team of '62 teamed WR holder Harry Jerome with three NFL guys: Mel Renfro, Mike Gaechter & Jerry Tarr (although the last was just a cup of coffee guy in that regard)

Didn't know Gaechter was a footballer. Good one gh! Now you have me thinking about other NCAA track/footballer 4x1's..hmm? Bound to be some we're forgetting.
