my local fishwrap says that since the weather service started keeping records (wasn't that around 1870?), only 5 U.S. cities have had snow on the ground every Xmas:

Marquette, Michigan
Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan
Hibbing, Minnesota (yeah, Bob!)
International Falls, Minnesota
Stampede Pass, Washington

I have an aunt who lives in Hibbing, having moved to southern climes after graduating from college.

And my grandfather thought it would be fun to take all his sons ice fishing in International Falls during the Christmas week one year in the '30s. They stayed only two of their scheduled five days.
