    Depends. Many Canadian Atlases have Oceania not Australia as the seventh continent. New Guinea has a mountain that is over 16,000 feet. That would make Antarctica the answer if you exclude the Bentley Trench.

    19. Australia. Its high point is Mount Koskiusko, 7,310 feet above sea level; its low point is Lake Eyre, 62 feet below sea level. But what about Antarctica's low point? Isn't it sea level? No, it is officially the Bentley Subglacial Trench, which is 8,327 feet below sea level but covered with a whole lot of ice. It is considered the lowest spot on the planet that's not underwater. Of course, if you removed all that ice, it would be underwater rather quickly.
