That was fun! I had 44/47 when time ran out. It took me several tries to spell some of them correctly. One country I didn't even know was a country, but should have from Casino Royale. The other two are little islands that I completely forgot about! I imagine it's a breeze for the Euro types, much as we naming all the states.
Wow, you guys are good. I only got 32. A few of them I couldn't spell. And I punched in Bosnia and then Bosnia-Herz... But the answer had an "and" in the name of the country.
I could not spell the Herz... junk attached to Bosnia, and I overlooked Denmark. Also all those new little guys that used to be Yugo fouled me up too, and Slovenia and Moldova threw me. I consider myself a Geography buff but now I am very chastened.
Like dj, I blew Romania. Kept looking at that map and thinking it must be Georgia, an answer they didn't accept. They apparently don't think it's in Europe. I disagree. I also missed a couple of the ex-Yugo's. One was B-H on spelling. I completely forgot about the other.
To my shame I only got 40 on the first run. I forgot that VC was a separate country.
I too was confused by the spelling of Bosnia-H, and the lack of Georgia, Armenia, Azerbaijan, etc which I think are technically in Europe. Mind you, I've heard people argue that Israel is in Europe. I wonder just where the continental divide between Europe, Asia and Africa actually is in that bit of land? Isn't the Arabian Peninsula technically Asia?

I typed in several names (Armenia and Georgia among others) that were rejected, including ones that I know realize were totally ficticious! I got B-H on the fourth try at spelling it. You did not need the 'and'.

Georgia, Armenia, and Azerbaijan are members of the Council of Europe, although they are not correct answers to this quiz (I tried the first two unsuccessfully--Georgia multiple times because I was sure it was in Europe.) The three that they recognize that are NOT members of the Council of Europe are Vatican City, Iceland, and Kosovo.
I did try the major college conferences quiz and had the most trouble with the Big East.
I've goven up trying to follow the major conferences. They change too often. And for someone who doesn't follow football or basketball, it's just impossible. They only time it matters is conference meets, and most of the big ones all happen the same weekend, so it's very hard to focus much attention on any one of them.
