It's about 10 miles from Plymouth to Crapstone. Maybe nevetsllim lives midway in Roborough.

There is a place in Cumbria called Cockermouth. Which is most unfortunate.

Many years ago whilst working a working as a telephone fundraiser I had to call someone who lived in Minge Cottage on Beaver Lane!!

Another time we had to interview some one called Titty Areola

Bringing it back to athletics what was that legendary scorebaord at the '82 European's (I think) that read something like......

        1 - Kocembova

        2 - Suk

        3 - Koch

        i deserve extra credit

It was the '86 Europeans, and I believe the name of the woman in the second lane was Lix.

Back when I was in college, some of my roommates took great delight in listing their phone number under a false name(since unlisting it cost more money) and using the most salacious combination they thought would get through to publication of the phone directory. The one I remember to this day was Harry Pudendum.

Oh, at first glance I thought you said the person you were working with was called Minge Cottage, which would have been very unfortunate!

My favourite is a street called Titty Ho in Northamptonshire.

What a sophisticated thread this is!

No, Roborough is to the north of where I live - I'm in the central of Plymouth.

Crapstone is in a horrible part of Cornwall. It's near a place called Torpoint and the only thing open past 10pm is this rather questionable takeaway, which sells a dubious something called 'box of meat' for £3.50

There is (or was) a genuine lane in London which beats all of the above for rudeness but I'm completely certain gh would go into conniptions if it was posted in full on his family message board. It's Grope**** Lane and I'll leave it to the fevered imaginations of your own dirty minds as to which four letter word it ends with.

Interesting. According to the wiki article the name was quite logically applied to streets where hookers did their business.

That wiki article has a link to a separate article on the four-letter word itself. That article is interesting and quite detailed, with 91 footnotes!

Slow period for real material, so this got fudged over there awhile to give one of our regulars 15 minutes in the spotlight.

Not that the U.S. lacks some colorful place names; saw a headline today about a guy from Humptulips, Washington. That creates quite a mental image!
