  • Who Was the Best Play-by-Play Announcer You Ever Heard?

Regardless of the sport, whom did you most enjoy listening to call games/meets?

    Chick Hearn. Period.

Though I like Vin Scully a lot, too

Did you now that Doc Emrick worked on a series of track meets for CBS in Europe in 1994? I had no idea at the time that he was so respected in the hockey world, but I was impressed at how hard he worked to get up to speed for a new sport(for him). Plus, he was a great guy to work with.

                              Harry Doyle

...okay, serious answer, might as well go with John Rooney. Always liked his call of the White Sox, and oddly enough, the year he moved to St. Louis, I moved from Chicagoland to the Saint Louis area as well. What makes that more interesting is that he called the White Sox WS victory in 2005 and the 2006 Cardinals WS championship.
