  • Bears get Jay Cutler

Not since Sid Luckman was the qb have the Bears had a franchise Quarterback. This is the best sports news in Chicago since Michael Jordan stated: "I'm Back!"

Not to rain on anyone's parade, but Cutler has a losing record, got his knickers twisted up in tight little knots because the team glanced at another girl, didn't return the owner's phone call for close to two weeks, basically quitting on the team. You can have him . . .

While I agree, he may well be one of those guys who's a pain in the butt, but actually can deliver the goods. The NFL is rife with the (TO) type.

4000 yards, Pro Bowl and the Bears were his favorite team growing up. Yea, we'll take him.

Imagine getting Gale Sayers and Dick Butkus in the same draft...wow! The Bears have been either the weakest or close to it teams in the league when it comes to QBing. Maybe......those days are over.

Personally, I beleve Kyle Orton has an upside.

By getting him, two #1s and a #3, I'm not so sure the Broncos didn't get the sweeter deal.

That said, Cutler is obviously talented.

He just needs to learn to control his emotions and to take a little off his passes at the right times.

Any thoughts on who he'll be throwing to?

What about Jim McMahon? He was pretty good.

True, a fine qb on the great 1985 team. But a short, injured career and not a game changer like I think Cutler will be.

I think he will be throwing the football to Devin Hester most likely.

There should be a few quality wide receivers still available in the second round.

Definitely Hester, also TE Greg Olson will get a few. And as Pego noted the second round should have someone around.

Cutler reminds me of Jeff George. $million arm 50cent head. Don't think Chicago has solved their QB problem.

I was more intrested in the wide receiver group. One of the wide receivers that the team lost last year I think should still be there to help out the new quarterback. Jeff George was with the Bears at the end of the 2004 season and has something to say.

Are you referring to a Viking, you have a passing acquaintance with  ? Yes, they should not have let him get away.
