Discovery Channel Shows How Vault Poles r Made

While hoteling in the Bay Area, one of the cable channels had a how-do-they-make-that feature on pole vault pole manufacturing. I may have name of the show wrong.

As a kid I had summer jobs in the old Browning Silaflex factory in Costa Mesa making fishing rods, ski poles, arrow shafts and vaulting poles. In those days the fiber-glass fabricating industry was one nasty, unhealthy business!!!

They also have done a section on making javelins. Both sections were filmed at Gill Athletics in Champaign, Illinois.
