It's pretty much a 4 day deal here in Indy, but we've got a good excuse for it.

Marlow, you are ALREADY done with school!?!

I have never understood why Memorial Day ever shifted from May 30 to the last Monday in May. I think that indicated the shift from a somber day of visiting the cemetery and listening to or watching the big race to a long weekend of clearance sales at big malls.

My 12 years lasted from the Tuesday after Labor Day until the last Friday in June. With Thanksgiving and November 11 as single days off, 6 days off each for Xmas and Easter and no such thing as teacher-conference days off that seem so popular now.

Yeah, and I'm on call all weekend - what's a holiday?

                              Popular with whom?!
I actually finished over a week ago because seniors end earlier than the rest, and my AP exam was done. The school year seems to be getting shorter and shorter (not that I'm complaining), and I read that as a cost-saving measure, some school districts are seriously thinking of going to 4-day school weeks! Parents' nightmare!
