Somehow I don't think many people'll be attending your next pool party, Marlow.

What they don't know won't hurt 'em! Luckily the total number of people who visit this site, AND know me, AND would be seen dead anywhere near me is the null set (pretty much from the last condition, I reckon!)

This is a great question and like most truths...complicted.

Most people would choose not to pee in the pool if they had a choice, i assume......See, I am already wrong.

How big is the pool? How bad do i have to pee? How drunk? Do i like the pool owners? Did i have a bad day? Do i have a case of the fuckits? Is my prostate heath where it should be? Do i enjoy the sight of a yellow stream?

My answer is i need more info before i can ............go. ops:

Hmmmm I was told once that in among the chlorine et al in public swimming pools in Britain there was a chemical in the water that would turn the released urine purple so everyone could see just exactly how much you'd let go. However, it may well be a convenient urban myth.

Anyway - sea, yes; pool, no.

The main reason i pee in the ocean is Blue Whales do also. My 1 oz. of pee compared to 350 gallons is nothin. Did i take the time to find out how much Blue whales really pee?.............you be the judge. 8-)

It may not be as taboo, but it's surely just as unhealthful.

According to Snopes, it is indeed urban myth. (It may be, however, that Snopes, being US-centric, was not aware of something that has been developed on the other side of the pond.)

Can a chemical be added to swimming pools that will reveal the presence of urine and catch those who pee in the pool?

Whener I underwater dive, I can always tell when other divers pee, because salt builds up around the crotch of the wetsuit when they emerge from the sea, lake, ocean.
