actually the world's first penile transplant was just recently performed (in the last 2 yrs or so). the donor was deceased and the recipient had had an industrial accident, i believe. unfort. the recipient could not stomach it psychologically, and it was eventually removed.

That sounds like hard....err, difficult surgery. Was it a lengthy process?
Not so bad for a replant - 3-4 hours. Replanting fingers are a lot more difficult as there are more structures to repair - bones, tendons, nerves, arteries, veins, and skin. Penis is only arteries, veins and skin.
No nerves ? All joking aside, I would have thought that would be the most sensitive part of the surgery...
Yeah, I guess there were some nerves, but that would be an easy repair. Much larger than digital nerves and arteries - at least in most cases. (I had to eventually segue into some innuendo on this topic.)

Someone should share this thread (no pun intended) with Robin Williams, and get him to do some freestyling standup (no pun intended) on this topic....

Of course he did - they don't want all the guests whipping it out and playing with it!

Is Dillinger's still on ice? Maybe we can help Squackee. :P
If you have ever been on a tour of Biltmore House in Asheville, they show you a nightstand that was used by John Dillinger when he stayed there. When I was on the tour, one of the other tourists asked the guide if it was true that Dillinger's penis was in that nightstand, which is apparently a well-documented urban myth. The guide denied it.

    About 6 to 8 inches, I'd guess.

I hesitate to inquire into the circumstances that prompted this question. Nevertheless, to quote someone, "an honest confession is good for the soul." There, don't you feel better now?
