  • Coincident Celeb Deaths

We recently had the example of Michael Jackson stealing Farah Fawcett's dying thunder. Which other celebs over the years shared a final day? Just today I learned of one pair, and a few months back of another group.

Most folks know who died on November 22, 1963. JFK of course. Kind of lost in the JFK hoopla was passing on of CS Lewis and Aldous Huxley. quite the trifecta.

Going back just a few years further, on April 23, 1616 the Bard himself, Bill Shakespeare, bit the dust. A few miles away the author of Don Quixote, Miguel de Cervantes, kicked the bucket the same day. I can only guess which one received the most coverage on the cable stations of the day.

Which other multi-celeb death-days come to mind?

might be a stretch to some, but Charlie Jones/Tim Russert. Charlie was one of the TV announcers on the first Super Bowl and was NBC's track guy for 10 years.

Too funny. It did not stick with me because Prokofiev was never in my landscape in any way whatsoever.

I seem to recall Mother Teresa passing away very shortly after Princess Diana did and some clueless newscaster saying that "Mother Teresa who knew Princess Diana" had passed away as if that was her major credential for being reported.
