Sad news. I was past puberty by the 1980's and therefore skipped most of his teen movies (except Weird Science and Ferris Bueller) but I liked much of his other stuff - especially Uncle Buck with John Candy. He was very much a middle class guy which is probably why he did not fit in with the rest of Hollywood.
