Sad news. I was past puberty by the 1980's and therefore skipped most of his teen movies (except Weird Science and Ferris Bueller) but I liked much of his other stuff - especially Uncle Buck with John Candy. He was very much a middle class guy which is probably why he did not fit in with the rest of Hollywood.

An important part of film making in America. Produced a new style and genre and how many film makers can say that?

one degree of separation: I sat in a seat one row behind Hughes (and Jim Belushi) at an '89 NLCS game at Wrigley Field. Between innings was a steady stream of autograph seekers.

Did it bother you, signing all those autographs, gh?

              great line from Bueller

Great line regarding Cameron's dad's Ferrari Spyder:

              Ferris "...If you have
the means I highly recommend picking one up..."
