December 1972 - hadn't had a haircut in 9 months! Thought I was da bomb, but photos prove otherwise, which is exactly why I will NOT be posting it here!
Working on Oklahoma to Canada wheat harvest crew in 1948, my "crew" cut grew out to be more than 1 inch in length before, motivated by repeated encounters at the grain elevator with the comely wheat hauling truck driver daughter of another crew's straw boss and ,admittedly, in fantasy anticipation of closer proximity, I found time to visit a barber in Bow Bell, ND.
And then their crew moved on into Canada and I had wasted a dollar on a haircut..
Looking on the bright side, that is still a record low expenditure for futile pursuit of the fairer sex.
Never made it down, great guitar player, funny as hell, brillant inventor and on a related note to this thread- hisGuitar was played by people with some of the longest hair in history!
Poor Peter Frampton, went from Jesus Christ to a cue ball.
Last summer when not braided, my hair was hitting below the belt, its longest ever. I was reluctant to keep to my every other year schedule of cutting off 14 inches (making my braid between my scapulae) and sending it off to Locks of Love because I realized my braid contained most of the only brown hairs I had left. I did cut it, and now a year later the braid is about 6 inches from my pants waistline. Obviously I do not wear pants to the urban fashion of below my buttocks.
Interestingly at a Science Engineers event they were measuring hair thickness- my browns were about 115 microns, while the grays were only about 70.
