I predict that BYU will upset Oklahoma in their opener in the new Texas stadium! (don't check the date of my post!)

Ha! That's just as silly as thinking that Big-12 also-ran, Oklahoma State, can beat a big SEC power like Georgia!

I reckon Charlie Weiss is starting to feel the heat now.

Poor Lou Holtz. His face afterwards was priceless.

Great win by UCLA, a program-turning game for Coach Neuhiesel's young Bruins. 2x CA state 100m champ and FR Randall Carroll, got his first reception of his career against the Vols as well.

Before I can consider a team the best ever, they must dominate wire to wire like the '95 Huskers did.
I'll take 01 or 02 Miami over ANYBODY.

The '01 Canes had to escape with a last second victory over an un-ranked Boston College team when Ed Reed returned a fumble recovery for a touchdown. The '02 Canes lost to Ohio State in the Championship. And yes, they did get robbed with a phantom interference call, but if they were as dominant as the '95 Huskers, the game wouldn't have been close enough for it to make a difference. Nevertheless, no team can be considered the GOAT if they don't finish the season with a perfect record.

Indeed. It's hard to tell how good the Gators are cuz they've played two Glorified Scrimmages. OKLA is out of the hunt, so I'm betting it all comes down to the BCS Bowl, undefeated Tex vs. undefeated Fla! I'd say, 'Go Timmy', except I really like Colt (hope he wins the Heisman!) and the 'Horns !

Last night's Boise State-Fresno State game had the feel of a track meet. There were eight plays of 60 yards or more, and the two teams combined for 987 yards of total offense.

UT should have no problem with Tech tonight since Tech only has one DE traveling. The other 3 on the roster are all injured.

No one is out of the hunt. Too much football left to be played. As far as TX goes, we'll have to see what they do with a quality team. They are entirely untested right now and their defense is no where near what it was last year. Neither would I annoint FLA yet and I would imagine quite a few SEC teams are hunting their hides. Bama could very well have their number this year. Although, I think Fla will will this weekend, it should be quite the entertaining game against Tenn. Lane Kiffin has guaranteed a victory against the Gators.
If you're ever walking down the beach and you see a girl dressed in a bikini made out of seashells, and you pick her up and hold her to your ear, you can hear her scream.

I assume he did against UCLA also.

Football being the he-man macho sport it is, most coaches and players say they're going to win, but then half of them have lost credibility by the end of the day. Like the little boy who cried wolf, it's hard to take them at face value any more. I've coached soccer for a long time and I don't EVER remember predicting victory. The standard line is 'if we play very, very well, we stand a very good chance of winning, no matter who the opponent is." We got beaten by some pretty weak teams when we played poorly and we beat some very strong teams when we played well.
