Even better. If UC is in Top 5 you win. Or if UF is NOT in the Top 5, you win. Good odds for you, yes?

The clock has just struck midnight for the Ole Miss Rebels. I never understood their high pre-season ranking anyway.

Jevan Snead was supposed to be the next Eli Manning.

Very soft team. Great QB without a tested supporting cast. D'oh! Looks like they got tested.

Thursday during the South Carolina-Ole Miss game, one of the announcers mentioned that one of the players in the game had raced against Trindon Holliday, noting that he had never beaten him, but he had actually been in a race with him. as though that by itself was an honor. Don't get me wrong, I'm a Holliday fan, but I have to admit that I thought it was odd to hear a football announcer speak of him in this way, as though he was the standard by which all football players must be judged when we talk about gridiron speed.

One of the talking heads on a national radio show yesterday said that if Bradford's injury is bad, he could easily see Snead being the No. 1 pick in the draft.

Even a Tebow fan like me understands Tebow is, at best, an NFL tight end prospect. He will go first round, but mostly just because he could put fannies (US-speak, not Brit, . . . but maybe that too) in seats, but ya gotta like Colt McCoy's chances as a mobile QB is the pros!

Scott Frost, the quarterback who led Nebraska to the 1997 national championship, was drafted as a safety and lasted six years in the NFL. If Tebow has sufficient speed, he would make one helluva enforcer a la Ronnie Lott.

Tebow doesn't have much speed at all. He's gains a lot of rushing yards by having excellent field-vision and patience to wait for his blocks. He'd make a decent fullback/blocking back, but I think he's made for tight end in the pros.

Has there ever been a top college quarterback who made it as a tight end in the NFL?

Interestingly, Cincinnati now has former Notre Dame starting QB Demetrius Jones playing linebacker.

Dunno. I do know there has never been another Tim Tebow, and you can take that any way you want! :-)

The problem is that McCoy's front line isn't as good as it used to be. I'm afraid if they keep designing plays for him to run he's gonna get whacked in a hurry. He has no where near the girth of a Tebow and he won't handle it as well. Even in the pros, the average mobile QB is gradually declining in rushing yards in favor of longevity.

The pros won't design many run plays for him, but they'll sure like his elusivity against the pass rush. Tebow would be a sitting duck.
