  • Rio 2016

It is South America's turn to host the Olympics for a first time, I really just hope there is alot of sport education about sport ethic when it comes to cheering. Alot of nasty things happened last Rio Pan Am. You don't cheer when someone falls or make crazy noise at the call to the blocks and set. . People come before Nationalism.

I am not just talking track, as it happened at many sport venues.. No disrespect to the Brazilian people, but it happened. Good luck, it's your turn.

I don't think it's necessarily South America's turn to host the Olympics, dividing continents into several parts would actually lead to many parts of the world needing to get a chance. Shouldn't a country in Africa eventually host the Olympics too ?

am i right in thinking that the rio games would actually be held in petropolis mostly?

which is actually quite a way out of rio, up in the mountains.

          Greece was close enough.

I'm not familiar with the geography, so I am curious as to why the Games wouldn't be in, and around, Rio?
Surely the BV will be on Ipanema... Isn't that where the Brazilian originated?

Great! Elevation 809.5 m, so Usain can set the WR for LJ or 400m without the "A"

The track stadium is in Rio itself and not in the mountains. It's certainly not in Petrópolis. I don't think there's any significant elevation.

T&F Athletes must understand this fact because is our tradition, you can't come and change the environment of full stadium, because with that passion we live every sport event...even the chess.

Here you have many social problems that happen every day...a lot of people don't eat 3 times a day, salaries are low, etc... then, many times, sports are a kind of "escape route" by all those problems...

If Olympic Commitee don't understand this point, ok, give it to Osaka or Chicago...but in the sports there's something more than a WR broken, or just marks and scores.

Adittionally. I saw the entire 07' Pan Ams...nobody complained about crazy noise at the blocks (like Ato Boldon did in Paris 03' QF's, for example)

                      Chicago is going to win.

                      End of story.

it's not i don't like Chicago but atlanta had the OG in 96 12 years after LA usa doesn't need it again. OG have never been to south america and for me the OG are all about including the whole world in on activity therefore it HAS to be spread around.

the OG in Rio just sounds amaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaazing

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for Rio, then Osaka and then I kind of lose interest. Spain and the US don't need it again so soon. I think there should be some rule about a country not hosting the games again for at least 25 years (and would prefer longer).

However, it would be nice to see the US host a World Championships, World Cup, World Junior or World Youth champs..
