        1959 Changed Everything

        Cassius Clay at the Pan Am Games in Chicago (w/ Oscar Robertson and Lou Brock). Robertson and Jerry West become college seniors. Lakers to L.A. with the graceful Baylor. '59 changed the world in ways beyond cinema (Black Muslims in the national consciousness, the pill, Cuban revolution, cool jazz):

        I have a new book out called 1959: The Year Everything Changed, which I suppose puts me in the ranks of authors lampooned in a story in the June 16...
