  • Why Did You Choose Your Screen Name?

I am curious as to why people choose screen names. Why did you choose your screen name? I'll go first. Mine is not very interesting. I was simply working on being more humble, and so I chose a name that I thought would emanate humility. So far it's working. How about you?

It didn't take much imagination for an Indian from Lone Wolf, Oklahoma.

Which of course brings to mind the old chestnut everyone learned in grade school: "Why do you ask, []...... ?"

My screen name on here is different from the one I use everywhere else.

I only chose it because the same day I signed up here, one of my interns was late the day before and said that he "got as drunk as Cooter Brown.". It was stuck in my head all day.

Nickname. Not original, but well known. Having a nickname is fun.

An now-extinct (or do we call it "vintage") Nike trail shoe... I liked the shoe so much I wore holes in the soles...

My daughter (who was a sprinter in the Big 12) gave me the moniker TrackDaddy around 2002. Shortly afterward I started using it to post on Dyestat, TrackShark, here and a few other places.

Been having a blast with this TrackDaddy gig ever since. ;-)
