    Conor, my son , his wife and their son live in Boulder, and my daughter, her husband and their 2 sons up the street in Louisville. For sure, Boulder has some folks that are a bit "different"... but I love the place !

      Especially in Fort Collins which is a nice town. I did my graduate work in mathematics there and taught at CSU.

      This whole story is more of a Boulder sort of thing. ;-}
      My daughter-in-law is an alumna of CSU. The class of '93.

        In Boulder they don't need a balloon....they just do some meditation and then levitate skyward.

          I like Boulder too! As I have mentioned before I lived in Boulder for several years back in 80's and 90's. But the town has had its moments. The Ramsey murder, the quarterback who got the coach's daughter pregnant and then dies of a brain tumor...So this balloon thing wouldn't have been so far out of line.

                    I sent a kite out a mile once in the winds of Eastern Washington, but the weight of the line was such that the kite was probably no more than 50 feet off the ground at that point. (See, there are benefits to living in wheat fields!)

                    Even with a large ocean-fishing trolling reel, took a long time to reel that sucker back in!

                          Overheard in my local watering hole: "I'm sure glad the kid wasn't in the balloon; for a minute there I thought Michael Jackson was in heaven and had ordered takeout."
