"Tennessee coach Bruce Pearl indefinitely suspended four Tennessee basketball players, including starting senior forward Tyler Smith, who were charged with gun possession and other counts after a Friday traffic stop.
The Knoxville Police Department said Smith, 23, junior point guard Melvin Goins, 22, junior center Brian Williams, 22, and sophomore guard Cameron Tatum, 21, were arrested during a traffic stop for speeding near Tennessee's campus."
Maybe Coach K and Roy have just gotten REALLY lucky with their choice of players and their programs. But I think there's a little more to it than that.
To be clear (the thread title made it sound hee-hee funny): "Tennessee football players were arrested today, just 24 hours after Lane Kiffin bragged that no Tennessee football players were arrested on his watch. But three Tennessee football players were not only arrested, but charged with armed robbery."
I can't sugar coat this one. I am sickened by this news and it has left me wondering about what is important in my life, outside of God, family, career.
The athletes are suspended indefinitely. Tennessee's AD explains :
"Indefinite suspension, what does that mean," Hamilton said. "For me it means we start at dismissal and work our way backward. It doesn't mean we start at one game and work our way forward. We'll see where it goes from there."
